Charita Raél did not set out to build a leadership institute. She set out to find herself — and in doing so, she discovered the work she was always built to do.

Her journey began in mass communications — radio, television, journalism, the art of effective messaging. She had always been a communicator. From writing for the school newspaper and announcing the morning news in middle school, to writing plays and producing creative work throughout her youth, she was wired to reach people through words and ideas. When she eventually earned her degree in advertising, she understood one thing clearly: any business, any vision, any idea lives or dies by how well it communicates itself to the world.

But it was what happened immediately after graduation that truly ignited her entrepreneurial fire.

Before she had even settled into her first corporate position, she was on a plane to Kenya. Colleagues who trusted her sharp strategic instincts had invited her to advise on emerging entrepreneurial ventures on the African continent — and she went, returning a second time the following year. Those two trips to Kenya planted something in her that a corporate salary was never going to satisfy. She knew she was built for something bigger. She just needed time to let it fully emerge.

From 2012 to 2015, she worked in corporate America — building her expertise in creative consulting and brand strategy, learning the architecture of how businesses communicate, operate, and scale. She was exceptional at it. But her creative genius was generating empires for other people while she sat inside a salary that couldn't hold the size of her vision.

In 2015, she walked away. And she never looked back.

Around that same time, she had been quietly following another thread — one that had nothing to do with boardrooms or brand decks. She had gotten deeply involved in community farming and agriculture, which led to a farm-to-table catering company, which led to a single event that cracked her world open.

She was hired to cater a wellness retreat. What she experienced there as a vendor changed the entire trajectory of her life. The transformative power of that space — the intersection of body, spirit, and human potential — confirmed what she had already been quietly studying in transpersonal modalities. Now she dove in completely. She immersed herself in energy medicine, Reiki, Qigong, and advanced wellness frameworks. She built a full-time transformational wellness practice and spent the next several years going deeper into that work than most practitioners ever go.

And the world kept calling her forward internationally.

In 2016 and 2017, she was flown to Jamaica for business endeavors — continuing to build her global consulting footprint while simultaneously deepening her wellness practice. In 2018 and 2019, her work expanded to Ghana — more on-the-ground experience advising entrepreneurs and leaders across cultures, economies, and contexts that most business advisors have never encountered.

Then something unexpected began happening inside her wellness practice.

Her clients started bringing their businesses into the room.

Entrepreneurs and business owners were hiring her for wellness sessions — and mid-session, the real conversation would emerge. Their business wasn't growing. Their revenue had plateaued. Their team was misaligned. They were burned out. From 2020 through 2024, as she continued her deep wellness work, she kept seeing the same pattern over and over: the business problem and the personal problem were never separate. They were the same problem showing up in two different places.

That revelation became the foundation of everything VCLI would become.

In 2025, her international consulting work expanded further — advising entrepreneurs in Hawaii and continuing to serve leaders across borders. And in 2026, her global trajectory reached its next milestone — consulting for organizations exploring expansion into Zambia and Sierra Leone, and landing a Strategic Referral Partnership with Globalization Partners (G-P), one of the world's leading global employment platforms. Through this partnership, Charita helps organizations hire, operate, and expand internationally without the complexity of establishing foreign legal entities. The global dimension of her work has never been an afterthought. It has always been where the work was heading.
